At least 20 municipalities and cities in Cebu will showcase their places, products, and package tours during the three-day travel fair dubbed “Cebu Journeys“, which will be launched on August 28 at the Capitol Social Hall.
The event is part of the month-long activities of the Province of Cebu lined up for the whole month to celebrate its 449th founding anniversary.
Aside from consulate and regional offices officials, Governor Hilario Davide III, Vice Governor Agnes Magpale, Department of Tourism Regional Director Shalimar Hofer Tamano, and partners and stakeholders, Cebu mayors are also expected to join the program.
LED walls that feature immersive looped audio visual presentations on different Cebu natural and cultural resources, and accomplishments in Cebu tourism would also be set up at the Capitol Dome.
Cebu Provincial Tourism Officer Joselito Costas said the travel fair is a way for the province to articulate its Key Development Agenda, by recognizing the role of local government units and communities in tourism and countryside development and tapping them as part of the celebration.
“This is an opportunity for all to know more about Cebu, particularly the products as well as the respective attractions of the different localities,” Costas said.
Visitors will get to discover the attractions and destinations of the participating localities, book tour packages, and earn the chance to win raffle draw prizes.
The travel fair will be open to the public starting at 12 noon on August 28. – BusinessNews.ph
