Philconstruct Visayas 2025, one of the largest regional gatherings for the construction industry, officially opened Thursday at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino, underscoring the sector’s growing focus on innovation, sustainability, and collaborative growth.
Now on its 14th year, the multi-day expo is organized by the Philippine Constructors Association (PCA) in partnership with the Cebu Contractors Association (CCA). The event features hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of participants from across the country, showcasing emerging technologies, green building solutions, and homegrown craftsmanship.
“This is a significant milestone and a testament to the strength, unity, and forward-thinking spirit of the Philippine construction industry,” said PCA President Engr. Gerardo Pancho during the opening ceremony. “Let us forge stronger partnerships, embrace new technologies, and adopt practices that honor both our craft and the generations to come. Today, we are not just building cities—we are shaping the future of our nation.”
Pancho emphasized the platform’s growing relevance to both businesses and industry stakeholders. “Philconstruct offers numerous benefits, including increased brand visibility, lead generation, and access to critical market insights. It allows direct engagement with clients, partners, and innovators,” he added.
Engr. Ruben Cueto, overall chairman of this year’s event and PCA’s first vice president, echoed Pancho’s sentiments. “We come together not just as professionals, but as a community of builders, dreamers, and doers,” Cueto said. “This event is a celebration of our collective passion and hope for the future.”
Cueto highlighted a new addition to this year’s program: a special exhibit dedicated to local furniture makers. “We are proud to showcase the talents of our local furniture manufacturers. Their creativity and craftsmanship deserve national and global attention,” he said.
The event features a wide array of exhibits, product demos, forums, and business matching activities aimed at enhancing technical expertise and forging commercial ties. Participating companies are presenting advanced equipment, eco-friendly building materials, and digital solutions designed to improve construction efficiency.
“Philconstruct has always been more than a trade show,” Cueto added. “It is a space where ideas are born, partnerships are built, and futures are shaped.”
Organizers view Philconstruct Visayas as a catalyst for decentralized development in the construction industry—aligned with national goals to boost regional economies and infrastructure post-pandemic.
The Visayas leg is part of the nationwide Philconstruct series, which serves as a key barometer of trends in infrastructure development and private sector sentiment in the Philippines’ rapidly evolving construction landscape.
